My Darkstalkers submission to the Udon art book contest. After almost 2 weeks, I'm finally able to look at it objectively and I can see quite a few flaws. Among others(prayer beads look like whoppers), the biggest is that it's just plain boring. If I train my style, I can probably get to a point where I can make a standing figure more interesting than...this.

While I was a little bummed, I didn't really expect to get in anyway. I'm actually pretty motivated to get better.

YEAH!!!

I've been doing a lot of things lately. Unfortunately, drawing has not been one of them.

NaNoWriMo had been going well, here is a widget from the homepage.

Other than the fact that I'm currently on track to actually completing this year, the novel kind of sucks. I'm putting that behind me though, if I actually do it this year I'll simply wallow in my sense of completion for a while, and I'm OK with that.

I have sketched in my sketchbook on and off the last few weeks, but nothing really worth mentioning.

I've been reading Jojo's bizarre adventure too because it's rad as hell.

Even though I haven't been drawing, I really have been feeling the itch. Once this month is over I'll try to resume my previous update schedule at least for the winter break.

I've been getting used to my school schedule which is rather demanding homework wise so I've been sadly ignoring this journal.  Now, I pretty easily could have been updating, but I haven't because I'm a lazy bastard.  I have been sketching in my sketchbook quite a bit, but nothing really amazing.  I've been looking at and emulating several different styles that I like and trying to figure out why I like them.  Either way, yeah, no drawing, sorry dudes.

I think I'll change the update schedule to once or twice a week so that I feel more obliged to update at all.  maybe a sunday and thurday thing.

NaNoWriMo is creeping up, I have sort of an Idea for a main plot but am unsure how to handle it, or really if that's what I want to write about.  We will see.  I hope I can at least finish this year, but I feel that a more character driven plot will be easier to write as opposed to the vastness of what I tried last year.  That just ended up with me spending just as much timewriting as going back and changing details so it all made sense.  Also, I didn't really care about it halfway though.

No drawing today, I did sketch a bit but it was all in my sketchbook and I really don't want to fire up the scanner right now. 

Also, my infrequent updates will probably become less frequent.  School started and holy fuck does translation look like a lot of work.
